Security Bands; These are designed to be very effective against 'opportunist attacks', by simply sending out a strong message to all levels of attacker that this machine is defended by a higher than normal level of security. Being made from 6mm thick steel means that any attack to be successful will probably require the use of power tools or oxy-acetylene cutting equipment, in either case the band probably removes the ATM from the scope for an opportunist. Even in the case of a planned attack, it will cause further delays in the break-in process thereby increasing the possibility of detection.

Physical Deterrent;

Inner Door; The inner door provides a multi-layered approach. Firstly it is a substantially made product which would have to be attacked by cutting etc as there is no conventional lock to attack. This will take time which will in-turn increase the likelihood of detection. The second feature it brings is achieved by interacting with the existing ATM security, it achieves this by effectively locking the existing ATM doors locking mechanism. In fact even if you do not lock the outer door the inner door will lock it more securely than if you had. The third feature is that the inner door helps the outer door resist a grinding or oxy-acetylene attack. The last feature is that since it has no obvious point of attack due to the operation of the unit wirelessly by remote control it adds to the complexity and skills necessary to gain access. All of these features add greatly to the difficulty of gaining forced access into the ATM enclosure, at the very least they will add considerably to the amount of time taken to gain entry and it is envisaged that if fitted with a security band as well that the machine will put off all but the most determined of attacks. There are instances where a security band cannot be fitted for physical reasons due to the exact location of the ATM, in these instances fitting an inner door on its own will offer a significant security enhancement.

These products can be used to enhance the security where existing alarms are not acceptable, the major step is where the existing alarms fall short.
